Installing the Geissele G2S Trigger

The excellent Geissele trigger comes with a set of instructions but I thought it might be helpful to provide a pictorial instruction to make it a little easier.

First make sure rifle is unloaded then push out the takedown and pivot pins and remove the lower from the upper.

Using a 1/8" or smaller punch, punch out the hammer pin then the trigger pin and remove the stock hammer, trigger, disconnector and pins and put aside.

Lubricate any bearing surface with the provided grease. Hammer/trigger pin holes and sear surfaces.

Line up the disconnector hole with the trigger pin hole in the receiver and tap in the trigger pin provided with the Geissele trigger.

Install the hammer pin retainer on the hammer. This is very important. If this is not installed the hammer pin will walk out and may cause serious and potentially dangerous malfunctions.

Put hammer in as shown. Make sure the legs of the hammer spring are on top of the trigger pin. It is the legs of the hammer spring that keep the trigger pin from walking out.

It's easiest to put the hammer in if the lower is on a lower receiver vise block as the legs of the hammer spring are very stiff. Push the hammer down until the hammer pin hole lines up with the receiver and push a 5/32" punch into the hole in the receiver to hold the hammer in place.  Insert the hammer pin in the other side. You will have to move the punch around a bit to get the holes to line up. Once they are lined up push the pin in with a plastic or wooden hammer far enough so you can remove the punch from the other side. Then move the hammer around until the holes line up on the other side and push the hammer pin the rest of the way in.

Reinstall upper onto lower and function test lower for proper function. Refer to page 6 of the Windham Weaponry Operating and Safety Manual entitled "Range Safety Checks-Before You Fire". Follow that same procedure to test the trigger group for proper function.

We receive a variety of customer service related questions from our customers, and in order to better serve all of you, highlight one question each month.

This month's question is:

I just purchased a new Windham Weaponry .308 SRC rifle. What do you recommend for sights ?

The .308 SRC's gas block rail and the upper receiver rail are the same height.  It is designed to use sights for same plane sighting.

All the sights listed & shown below are compatible with our .308 SRC.

Subject: Your varmint exterminator barrel

Three different bullet groups, factory trigger, and a hunting scope not intended for 100 yard target shooting.  My son just received one of your MPCs. Its fit and finish is really nice, and it also is very accurate. I just wanted to thank Windham for building quality rifles and parts.

Subject: First shots - New 20" Varmint complete upper

I just purchased your 20" Varmint complete upper and thought you would like to see the first shots (attached).  I have been shooting a WW 16" MPC with excellent results.  I took a pet load, added 1 grain of powder and, after zeroing the scope, took these five shots.  I have been reloading and shooting for close to 40 years and just guessed at a starting load looking for what this particular rifle may like. I could hardly believe what I saw at 100 yards through the spotting scope especially since the rest was not rock solid.  This says a lot about the quality of your firearms.  Outstanding!

If anybody is interested the load used was:

23.5gr IMR 8208 XBR powder

69gr Sierra Match King

Federal case

Wolf primer

2.245" COAL

Holden, Missouri

Subject: WW-15 HBC

I wanted to send you a quick note about my recent purchase of one of your firearms. After an exhaustive search of the AR market and the abundance of manufacturers out there, I chose one of your rifles in part because of the rather unique story of your company's history AND how it put good people back to work, but the defining factor in my purchase was the various reliability quality reviews that are out on the net.

I'm glad that I did my research and bought one of your rifles. Though I'm only 90 rounds into my weapon, I'm not disappointed. Fit and finish are top notch and it reliably ran a variety of ammo with the supplied WW steel magazine. The rifle also seems to be sighted well out to 125 yards straight out of the box.

I wish your company a prosperous future and commend you for offering a quality firearm at an affordable price.

Subject: So Happy

Hello.  I recently purchased my very first AR-15 and after much research and thought, decided on your WW-15 SRC. I couldn't be happier with my decision. I wanted a US made gun and since I knew your backstory, you were high up on the list. Once I was able to see a couple versions of your rifles, the choice was clear, especially at the entry level price point.

To say I am well pleased with my choice is an understatement.  You have a great product at a very fair price.  Of course, I have since added some goodies and optics and such.  The rifle shoots great and I am a very satisfied customer.

What's New in LE?

The month of May brought a little travel with it. I made it to Tupelo Mississippi for a demo shoot and then it was off to Baton Rouge for another demo shoot. I want to thank everyone that made the trip to Tupelo and to Baton Rouge. I would also like to thank both the Tupelo Officers and the Louisiana State Police Training Academy for hosting their respective shoots. They were both fantastic and the turnout was great.

The month of June is bringing more travel as I will be heading to Dallas/Fort Worth for the National Sheriff's Convention. I will be in Booth #339, directly across from C-SOG (the US Corrections Special Operations Group}. I will have a brand new rifle configuration that I will be unveiling at the show as well.

Introducing a New Rifle Configuration at a special price.

Form June 16th to July 14th I'm going to be offering the R16SFS-308 at a special pricing for active and retired law enforcement and military along with a FREE second mag.  Please contact me for pricing on the rifle.  Tcoons@windhamweaponry.com
