MARKETING NEWS

Mark Eliason, VP Sales & Marketing
Spring has ‘sprung” here in Maine – we actually hit 80 degrees the other day. As Mainers, we know that it’ll drop back down an a few days, but its a nice taste of the fine weather to come in the new season.
Speaking of new things for Spring, we’ll be introducing a new caliber to our lineup. In our .308 AR10 platform, look for the addition of the incredibly flat shooting 6.5 Creedmoor caliber.

And, we’ve got a great new SRC model featuring a “We the People” full camouflage treatment based on imagery from the preamble to the Constitution of the United States of America.

We’ll have these models and more at the upcoming NRA Convention & Annual Meeting in Atlanta, so stop by at Booth # 4918. The Show runs from Friday April 28th thru Sunday April 30th. We look forward to seeing you!

Don’t forget that we’ll continue to offer our Tax Time Savings Sale until April 30th. We’ve been adding new items every week, and all sale items are priced at 15% OFF! Upper Receiver Assemblies, Barrels, Magazine, Parts & Accessories – maybe just what you’re looking for!

TOPIC: Removal of Stock Trigger Guard

Make sure weapon is unloaded! Wear safety glasses!

For those wishing to replace the stock trigger guard with an aftermarket trigger guard, here are instructions for removal of the stock triggerguard without damaging the lower receiver.
Removal of trigger guard roll pin must be done with careful support of the trigger guard ear. If you fail to do this the trigger guard ear will break off and is not repairable.
Here I have simply removed and replaced the stock trigger guard. Most aftermarket trigger guards are installed the same way but follow the instructions that come with whatever replacement you want to install.
Remove upper receiver from lower receiver by pushing in the rear takedown pin and front pivot pin.
Remove Pistol grip with a 3/16″ Allen wrench. Be careful not to lose the safety detent spring or safety detent.

Cut two small blocks of wood that are about 1 ½” thick and drill a hole in one of them. Position them as shown.

Place lower on the two blocks with the trigger guard roll pin over the hole in the block of wood as shown. Use pistol grip for support under the stock.

With a 1/8″ roll pin punch and a hammer slowly and carefully drive the roll pin out through the ears. Be sure to keep the punch nice and straight. Push it all the way out and into the hole in the block of wood.

Use the punch to push in the detent in the hole on the magazine well side of the trigger guard and remove trigger guard.

To reinstall, push detent in and replace in the magwell side trigger guard ear. Then replace the roll pin in the rear trigger guard ear. It’s best to use a roll pin holder that holds a .130″ roll pin to start the roll pin into the hole. Be sure to keep the hole in the trigger guard lined up with the hole in the trigger guard ear.

With the 1/8″ punch slowly drive the roll pin in until it is flush with the outside of the trigger guard ear.

Replace pistol grip in reverse order of removal.

Due to a large number of inquiries from customers on this topic for both .223/5.56 and .308, we are highlighting the question again.

This month’s Question is:
I’d like to change the stock on my Windham Weaponry rifle. Is the Buffer Tube Mil-Spec or Commercial?

Answer:
All Windham Weaponry Rifles .223/5/56 and .308 are shipped with Commercial Specification Buffer Tubes (also called the Receiver Extension Tube). The differences are shown in these photos:

Grip Pod Vertical Grip / Bipod

PART#: GPS-02
Price: $149.95

The Grip Pod GPS-02 is designed with the shooter in mind. Developed for military use and made from advanced, reinforced polymers, the GPS-02 is light enough to preserve weapon balance and deployment, yet still tough enough to withstand hard use, due to its hardened polymer covered stainless steel legs. Its handle has been shaped and ribbed for a more ergonomic fit and firm grip. A strong clamping knob mechanism firmly mounts it to any Picatinny Rail and a push button release mechanism deploys the BiPod legs instantly. Length Closed: 5.75 / Deployed Height: 8.25 / Deployed Width: 7.25 / Diameter: 1.75 / Weight: 7 Oz. Made in USA. Shown in photo both deployed and in profile with legs retracted.

WHAT’S NEW IN LAW ENFORCEMENT

With spring upon us, things here at WW couldn’t be better. Warmer weather on the doorstep always makes things better.
We had a great show at the Maine Sheriff’s Association this month, and now I’m off to TTPOA in Dallas Texas. Of course the last week of April I’ll be attending NRA in Atlanta and as many of you know that is one crazy busy show. WW has a few new items we will be introducing at NRA so if you are planning on attending PLEASE come by booth 4918 and check things out.
We also have some opportunities for those of you out there in the LE/Military world to attend one of our Armorer’s Courses around the country. Here is a link with those current opportunities, but please check back as we are working on adding a few more locations to the list very soon. To qualify to attend a class you must have at least one of the following: Hold a current and valid permit to carry concealed; Have a current FFL or work for a business that has a current and valid FFL; Be an active police officer or a retired officer covered under HR218.

PLEASE reach out to my assistant Cindy Thompson, or me with any questions or to sign up for one of our classes. PLEASE NOTE the class listed in NJ might be canceled due to low enrollment. Cthompson@windhamweaponry.com or Tcoons@windhamweaponry.com

************

Dear Windham Weaponry Staff,

I was surfing the internet the other day and ran across an article about your company and its history. I read through it and what I got from it really made me respect your company’s dedication to what you’re best at, making AR15’s for Americans like me.

Before I read that article I would have had no idea that Windham Weaponry was born from the original Bushmaster company. When I was growing up when I thought of an AR15 I always pictured a Bushmaster, not a Colt or any other manufacturer. In fact, the very first AR15 I fired was a Bushmaster Dissipator rifle when I was about 10 years old. Also, my Dad has a XM-15 from the Clinton era which was the only AR type rifle I shot regularly until I joined the Military.

Learning of the Freedom Group acquisition of Bushmaster and the abandonment of the original employees and then the rebirth as Windham Weaponry really touched me. It must feel amazing to look at the current line of Bushmasters compared to your own line and know that yours are 5x the quality and value.

Your company has some of the most qualified AR gunsmiths in the country and has a very bright future. I am making it my priority to make my next rifle a Windham and will encourage as many people as I can to do the same. I wish all of you success and thank you for sticking to your guns (literally) and continuing on your tradition of producing some of the best quality AR15’s on the market.

From a huge fan to you,

Alec R. in Nebraska
