Upcoming Training Events
PRACTICAL RIFLE 1
Sunday, Jan. 13 | 9am-5pm
Practical Rifle 01 is an entry level course for new shooters or experienced shooters seeking to enhance their skills and train for defensive applications. This course is designed for the AR platform or equivalent system. Topics will include: safe use of the rifle, shooting fundamentals, accuracy, multiple firing positions, malfunctions clearing and ready positions. As in all WISR training courses instructors will discuss weapon management, tactics and mindset. This course will provide you with the knowledge, training techniques and confidence to master these skills.
EFFECTIVE
DRAW STROKE
Sunday, Jan. 20 | 10a-12p
This two-hour course discusses both concealed carry and open carry draw stroke. WISR instructors will guide you through the Four-Step Draw Stroke sequence, which is a critical skill to ensure a safe, quick and efficient presentation. Topics will include: accessing your handgun, garment control, gun hand grip, two handed presentation, shooting fundamentals and holstering. This class is hands on with practicals and live fire drills. Students taking this class will be authorized to use a holster on our range at 20% speed.
TRAUMA FIRST AID
Saturday, Jan. 26 | 9am-1pm
Trauma First Aid is a 3-hour class designed to develop basic medical skills that can be successfully employed in life threatening situations in and out of the home. Management of traumatic injury until EMS can arrive is the focal point of this training. The class will consist of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practical stations to include both self-aid and “buddy” aid. Whether you’re taking the course because of a past traumatic experience or a desire to be better prepared, this course will give you the skills to accomplish the mission.
After a year of record-breaking disasters,
the Red Cross is in need of blood more than ever.
We’ll be holding a blood drive
Monday, Jan. 28 between 10 am-3pm
