Jason Wilson, the founder and CEO of Lucid Optics, is a competitive F-class shooter. He shared these targets with us.
These five-shot groupings were made with our 6.5 Creedmoor using 142-grain Hornady ELDX propelled by H4350.
Last summer, he used our 6.5 Creedmoor
for matches in the Gas Gun Division (right).
To quote Jason, “Safe to say, this gun shoots!”

WINDHAM WEAPONRY 6.5 CREEDMOOR
BARREL ASSEMBLY
This 6.5 Creedmoor barrel assembly is ready for you to build a tack-driver! The barrel offers a 5/8″ x 24 TPI threaded muzzle so that muzzle brakes or sound suppressors can be fitted.A low-profile gas block is included to allow easy installation of a free floating handguard. Button rifling is 1 turn in 8 inches – right hand twist for optimum accuracy
This 6.5 Creedmoor barrel kit includes everything forward of the upper receiver, plus a dual-ejector bolt. The barrel and gas tube are covered by a 15” Windham Weaponry free-floating handguard. The kit also includes a bolt with dual ejectors machined from Carpenter 158 steel; a low-profile gas block; QD sling swivel; and a 2″ 1913 military standard rail section for accessories.
I am interested in purchasing a new barrel. Do I need a barrel assembly or a barrel kit? What is the difference?
Answer:
Barrel Assemblies generally include the barrel, barrel nut and gas block (exceptions listed below).
Barrel Kits are everything forward of the upper receiver – all of the above plus the handguards, delta ring kit if applicable, gas tube and pin, flash hider and crush washer or thread protector (on 6.5 Creedmoor).
Barrel Assemblies on the AR15 platform:
223/5.56 and .300 Blackout barrel assembly includes the barrel, barrel nut and gas block. Exception: .223 Varmint Exterminator (VEX) ships with the barrel, bolt and gas block.
7.62×39 barrel assembly includes the barrel, barrel nut, gas block, bolt and enhanced firing pin.
.224 Valkyrie barrel assembly incudes the barrel, gas block and bolt.
On our .308 Platform:
.308 barrel assembly includes the barrel, barrel nut and gas block.
6.5 Creedmoor barrel assembly includes the barrel, gas block and bolt.
If changing to a different caliber, for example 7.62×39 to .224 Valkyrie, you will also need the correct AR style magazine to fit that caliber.

It was great to meet so many officers from all around the country that I have been doing business with over the previous years. The show was very well attended and it gave us the opportunity to display new products, such as the 9MM Pistol.
